Concert Sacred Music Meets Tango - Palmeri's MisaTango & more

On this concert evening, passionate tango rhythms meet sacred soundscapes: The Dachau Choir Community invites you to an evening full of devotion, passion and pulsating music. The Misa Tango (Misa a Buenos Aires) by Argentinian composer Martin Palmeri is on the program, a work that inspires audiences and performers worldwide. This extraordinary mass will be performed for the first time in Dachau. The Misa a Buenos Aires (Misa Tango) is church music in a melting pot, Tango Nuevo, paired with traditional choral and orchestral sounds and Latin mass liturgy combined with the expressive power of South American rhythms. The Dachau choral community contrasts the MisaTango with Gabriel Fauré's choral composition „Cantique de Jean Racine“, a timelessly beautiful and luminous prayer full of warmth. Astor Piazzolla's „Café 1930“ from L'Histoire du Tango in an arrangement for accordion and flute forms a bridge between passionate street music, concertante elegance and deep spirituality. Performing with the Dachau choir community: Theresa Holzhauser, mezzo-soprano, Simon Japha, bandoneon, accordion, Alina Voiler, piano, string ensemble of the BRSO. The overall conductor is Michael Meyer, who also plays the flute. Solidarity-based price model for more cultural participation In addition to the unusual programme for the Dachau choral community, the ensemble is also breaking new ground in terms of organization: for the first time, a solidarity-based admission price model is being offered. The regular ‘Fair Price Ticket„ costs 28 euros and forms the basis for financing the concert as well as the fair remuneration of the professional musicians who perform with the choir. There is also a “Social Price Ticket„ at a price of 18 euros. This offer is aimed at concertgoers for whom regular admission is currently more difficult to obtain. Proof is not required - the model is based on personal responsibility and solidarity on the part of the audience.
