The myth of the neutrality requirement - How to deal with the demand for neutrality in educational work?

The neutrality requirement known from the Beutelsbach Consensus has been strategically used by right-wing actors for years to take action against democratic education with supposed legal arguments. This tactic is intended to intimidate teachers and extracurricular educators who are committed to basic democratic values. Their commitment against right-wing structures is to be delegitimized. Together with the Stammtischkämpfer:innen of the alliance Aufstehen gegen Rassismus, we will deal with this right-wing strategy and develop counter-strategies. The aim of the training is to educate, empower and exchange ideas with teachers, educational stakeholders and civil society activists.

The event is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as part of the federal program Demokratie leben!.
