A city tour that moves Themed tours combine mobility with vibrant city history. Dachau – Under the title „Through Dachau's History by City Bus – from the Train Station, past the former Moor Bath, to the Old Town,“ tour guide Matthias Schüßler once again invites you on a special journey of discovery. The approximately two-hour tour combines historical insights with modern mobility – and, thanks to short bus rides, opens up a significantly larger radius than traditional walking city tours. We keep getting off to experience the historical sites firsthand. Thanks to the bus system, we're expanding our reach to conveniently switch between more distant points – and thus make more of Dachau's history tangible. The starting point is Dachau station, where the „snorting monster“ – the first railway – once caused a stir. With the Dachauer Linie 719 city bus, we head to sites such as the renowned mud bath, which once attracted guests from all over the world, Max-Mannheimer-Platz, named after the Holocaust survivor and honorary citizen of Dachau, the traditional Koschade Clinic, where over 15,000 Dachau babies were born, and the former Hörhammerbräu, where kings, popes, and artists used to stop. The tour is peppered with lively anecdotes – from the cozy „Bockerl“ train to the legendary Spatznschlössl of the now critically viewed artist Hermann Stockmann. „This tour connects familiar places with stories you may have never heard – and, by extending the radius beyond typical city tours, shows how diverse and multifaceted Dachau is,“ says Matthias Schüßler. Both dates last year were booked out within a very short time – a clear sign of the great interest in this special form of city tour. Early booking is also recommended for the new date in April 2026. The tour concludes in the old town with an impressive view over the Dachau Moor all the way to the Alps – a panorama that uniquely symbolizes the highs and lows of the city's history. The tour takes place on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 2:15 PM and costs 20 Euros. The bus ticket can be optionally added via the following link until 04/16/26: Binding registration/booking required: 🌐 https://stadtfuehrung-mit-matthias.de/termine |
