„Nathan Ott has named his quartet's latest album “Continuum„. The Metzler Lexikon Philosophie defines it as: “A whole that maintains itself as a unit across its parts„. Nathan Ott describes it more personally: “It is a springy, thin, precisely executed beat on the head of a drum, immediately followed by another on a cymbal. And there it is, the polarity in the microcosm of drums: head and cymbal. Wood plus animal skin versus sounding metal. In the very first second, I bring the determining sound factors of my instrument to life. The continuum can begin." Christof Lauer (ts, ss), Jonas Westergard (b) and Camila Nebbia (ts) contribute to this continuum. Christof Lauer, a veteran of German jazz and winner of many prestigious jazz awards and now finally on our stage, Jonas Westergard, Danish musician and Berliner by choice (with Kempendorf, Lillinger, Steidle and many others) and Camila Nebbia, Argentinian saxophinist, who has been actively shaping jazz life in Berlin since 2020. 2025 was awarded the German Record Critics' Award in the Jazz II category for the album Continuum.
