The artist Ignaz Taschner, who lived in the immediate vicinity of Dachau, donated the design for this fountain to the market town of Dachau in 1910. The masterpiece was created from red Ruhpolding marble in 1919. The central column is adorned with figures of farmers in traditional Dachau costume.
