As a writer, Günter Grass (1927-2025) achieved worldwide fame and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1999, although he had originally wanted to become an artist. He studied painting and sculpture at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Otto Pankok and subsequently under Karl Hartung at the University of the Arts in Berlin, where he completed his studies as Hartung's master student. The exhibition at Galerie KA7, created in cooperation with the Günter and Ute Grass Foundation in Lübeck, offers a glimpse of Grass's great artistic talent. Visitors can see lithographs, etchings, algraphs, watercolors, and sculptures by the multitalented Günter Grass.
