Dachau Palace Court Garden

Panoramic view in the courtyard garden of Dachau Palace

A magnificent Baroque pergola of lime trees, old garden walls, fruit trees and flower borders as well as a small adjoining wood bear witness to the various eras of garden design that the Dachau Court Garden has undergone since the 16th century. Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell was the designer of this magnificent court garden, which is adjoined by a so-called English garden.

The elevated location on Dachau's Schlossberg offers a magnificent panoramic view over Munich as far as the Alps.

Bee nature trail in the courtyard garden

Five bee colonies are at home in the so-called English Garden, a wooded area of the Hofgarten.

It was created specifically for the pollination of fruit trees. Information boards guide visitors through the bee garden and explain more about the beehives. A special feature is the bee ball developed by Andreas Heidinger. This form of beehive corresponds to the bees' natural way of life in tree hollows and makes it possible to observe the inner workings of a beehive.
