The Old Cemetery in the old town, the Waldfriedhof and the Etzenhausen Cemetery are islands of peace in the middle of the city and the final resting place for many artists.
The graves of well-known personalities such as Hermann Stockmann, Paula Wimmer and Carl Thiemann are marked with bronze or clay plaques.
