Galerie Lochner opened in January 2019 in a central location in Dachau's old town on the first floor of a building that is more than 100 years old. It is less than five minutes" walk from Dachau Castle, between the Dachau Picture Gallery and the New Gallery. The gallery program includes four to five exhibitions a year with works by internationally renowned contemporary artists. Markus Lüpertz's work "Sternzeichen" (Signs of the Zodiac), created in 2018 and consisting of 12 color woodcuts and 12 hand-painted sculptures, was shown at the gallery opening.
