Our senses are the gateway to the world. Through sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch, we explore our environment, form memories, and navigate our daily lives. This year's annual exhibition at the district museum invites visitors to rediscover their own perception. Vivid models offer fundamental insights into how our senses function. Historical objects from the collection, as well as selected loaned items, show how the understanding and significance of the senses have changed over time. Current questions—such as those from medical research on supporting or replacing human sensory abilities—are also addressed.
Interactive stations offer visitors of all ages the opportunity to become active themselves, test their senses, and experience them in a playful way.
The exhibition is being created as part of the annual theme „Senses“ of the working group „Landpartie – Museums around Munich 2026“.
